Friday Classic:
Kobs vs. Heathens – Legends, 5:00pm
Betway Kobs captain Brian Odong and full back Joseph Aredo will return to action today when their side host Hima Cement Heathens at Legends Rugby Club.
The two have been sidelined with injuries but the postponement of the game from last week has seen them recover in time for the gargantuan clash.
“I feel good and ready to play, it’s now up to the coach,” Aredo told Kawowo Sports ahead of the tie.
Kobs lead the ten-team log with 38 points while Heathens are just a point shy and the last game of the first round could turn out to be vital in the title race.
The two sides both struggled in their last games with Kobs laboring to oust a resurgent Toyota Buffaloes while Heathens came from 00-13 at halftime to defeat Ezeey Money Rhino 26-13.
“We have played and won on this ground before,” Heathens’ captain Michael Wockorach revealed to Kawowo Sports after the Rhino’s game which was played from the same venue.
For the returning Odong, this game is a cup final and he believes the home side have to concentrate for all the 80 minutes if they are to get a good result.
