KCCA FC dominated the news in the January transfer window because of its huge involvement in players swapping.

The Kasasiro boys signed a significant number of players but in the same breathe let go of a handful.

Among those released was midfielder, Owen Kasule who was loaned to struggling The Saints and has since featured twice for the Moses Basena coached side and has a goal to his name already.

Speaking to Kawowo Sports, Kasule whose contract with the league table leaders expires in June highlights the mood at his new club and how hopeful he’s for the team to survive.

“I’m happy I’m part of this project. The players play as a unit and you can see the togetherness at the club. We know what we want and we know it’s not easy for us but we are working really hard,” Kasule said. “It’s going to be tough but I know we shall survive relegation. The difference between us and the team above relegation is just 3 points. If we win our next game against Soana on Saturday, we shall be out of relegation” he added.

Kasule’s contract with the 10 time league champions expires in three months’ time and asked if talks of his contract renewal are due, the former URA midfielder adamantly says;

There’s no way I’m going back to KCCA. I’m not renewing my contract with KCCA. I’m just waiting for the current one to expire so I gain my freedom back. I support KCCA but KCCA is not a professional club. They treat players like school kids. There’s no freedom at KCCA. Too many rules at the club and they always want to dictate on everything .What you wear, how you maintain your hair and all those unwanted rules. It’s different at URA or even Vipers

Kasule still habours hopes of playing for the National team, a chance he last got in 2012.

“Presently, my aim is to get back to my best. I’m just 28 so I’m not finished as yet. I still have a lot to offer and yes I have my eyes set on the National team. I know it involves a lot of hard work. Luckily, it’s what I’m doing. I’m focused and my target this season is to score 8 goals for The Saints. I’m optimistic I will get back to the National team through hard work, same was the case with (Geoffrey) Sserunkuma”
