Maroons vs. Lweza – Luzira Prisons Grounds, 4:00pm
Two of the relegation candidates will go head to head at Luzira Prisons Grounds on Saturday, March 5 as Maroons host Lweza in Uganda Premier League
Ten points separate the two sides on the table before kick off, but victory for the visitors will see them increase their chances of staying up and further sink the hosts who are still rooted at the bottom of the table.
Maroons go into this fixture at the back of a 1-0 loss to Bright Stars and coincidentally, Lweza suffered a similar defeat at the hands of the same opponents.
The two sides drew at Wankulukuku last year in December, but Lweza will draw inspiration from their spirited performance showcased against one of the title contenders Police FC.
The “Oranje” boys subjected the cops to a 2-1 defeat on Tuesday, February 23.
Maroons’ head coach Paddy Kintu said told the official website ‘the team has greatly improved in the striking line’, but it should be noted that, Maroons’ major problem this season has been finding the back of the net.
The side has scored the least goals (8) in the league. Hudu Mulikyi and Patrick Kaddu, the club’s leading forwards have only managed 4 between them.
Kintu’s charges nonetheless, will hope to record their only second league victory when they face 12 placed Lweza.
With only 13 games left, a loss would further diminish their chances of surviving relegation .
