Uganda Rugby Union has vowed to punish any stakeholder who will break the code of conduct of the game following the rise of mid and post match brawls that have involved team officials, players and match officials.

URU CEO Ramsey Olinga revealed to New Vision how anyone involved could risk being suspended or banned in case they are found guilty of regulations-breach.

“The Disciplinary Committee will punish all players, coaches and match officials alike who break the code of conduct of the spirit of the game,” Olinga said.

Most of the misunderstanding have resulted from referee decisions including one at the Heathens-Kobs match, where Phillip Wokorach’s late score was denied due to infringement.

The Rams – Impis also had tempers flare as the students tried to question the referee on what they termed a ‘dubious’ penalty in favour the visitors in the final minutes of the match.

Meanwhile, after a short break that closed out the first round, the Rugby Premiership resumes Friday as Pirates face Rhinos at Legends Rugby Grounds.
