Vipers SC Vs Sadolin Paints FC – Buikwe, 4:00pm
Following an early exit from the CAF Champions League, Vipers SC resumes defence for the league crown with a home fixture against Sadolin Paints at Buikwe on Saturday.
The reigning champions who sit second on the log despite having two games in hand over log leaders KCCA are boosted by the return from injury of goalie Ismail Watenga and defender Shafiki Bakaki.
The duo missed the back to back continental ties against Nigeria’s Enyimba International and their return is timely for a side seeking to win a third league crown history.
“Bakaki and Watenga are back in contention,” Coach George ‘Best’ Nsimbe said. “The loss against Enyimba is behind us now and focus is back to the league,” he added.
The champions however are minus defender Halid Lwaliwa and William Wadri whilst left back Dan Birikwalira is doubtful and so are Duncan Sseninde and Kezironi Kizito.
The two sides played to a barren draw in the first leg but Vipers are buoyed by history as they have never lost in previous three meetings.
The painters lost their previous league game 3-0 at the hands of Express FC and now sit 11th with 21 points.
