AFCON 2017 Qualifiers (Group D):

1st Leg – Burkina Faso Vs Uganda (Sat, 26th March 2016)

2nd Leg – Uganda Vs Burkina Faso (Tues, 29th March 2016)

Uganda Cranes and Simba midfielder, Brian Majwega is set to fully embrace another return to the national team fold with open hands.

The swift and fast dribbling left footed player has not been part of the national team since September 2015 due to injury and limited playing time at club level.

Majwega who has of late featured prominently at his Simba side in the Tanzanian league is focused on offering decent service to the Uganda Cranes in a bid for qualification to the African Cup of Nations since 1978.

In an exclusive interview with Kawowo Sports, the former KCCA and Standard High Zana player noted;

I want to be part of history. I have worked hard to get playing time at my new club and i am ready to serve above self once given the opportunity.

Majwega is also a team-mate to two other Uganda Cranes players, defender Murushid Jjuuko and striker Hamis ‘Diego’ Kizza.

His impressive display during Simba 5-1 victory over Singida United in a league cup match brought his best in the club shirt since transferring from Azam F.C.

Danny Lyanga opened the scoring for Jackson Mayanja’s coached side before Diego Kizza and Juma Awadh each had a brace.

On the return to the Uganda Cranes, Majwega remains hopeful he can serve the best with the help of teammates.

The team chemistry we have built with majority of the other Cranes teammates is crucial. We all love to deliver and working towards the set targets with respect to the technical team and the fans.

Uganda travels to Burkina Faso two days to the Saturday, 26th March 2016 Group D tie in Ouagadougou before the return leg three days later at the Nelson Mandela National stadium in Kampala.
