For the first time this season, newcomers The Saints moved out of the relegation zone thanks to a 4-0 victory over visitors Soana FC at Mandela National stadium, Namboole.

Patrick Ssenfuka; a January acquisition from Kenya’s Bidco scored inside two minutes but the hosts had to wait till the half hour mark to double the lead.

Nine minutes later, Yasin Mugume; on loan from KCCA made it 3-0 as Moses Basena’s side took a confortable first half lead.

The second half saw little action but it was again the hosts that scored through Hassan Musana to complete the rout.

The Saints exchanged slots with SC Victoria University despite tying on 16 points but the Namanve based side has a better goal difference in 13th and have played a game less.

Charles Ayiekho’s Soana FC are now ninth with 25 points but just ten adrift of log leaders KCCA.
