  • 1st Leg: Burkina Faso Vs Uganda – Sat, 26th March 2016 – Ouagadougou
  • 2nd Leg: Uganda Vs Burkina Faso – Tues, 29th March 2016 – Kampala

Colorado Rapids midfielder, Mike Azira and FUFA Big League teenager, Edrisa Lubega are some of the surprise inclusions on the Uganda Cranes team summoned for the Burkina Faso double header.

Announcing the team during a press conference in Mengo, head coach Milutin Sredojevic called for character from the players ahead of the crucial double header that is key to Uganda Cranes  AFCON qualification campaign since Ghana 1978.

We need to lift our character ahead of this double header

Commenting on the inclusion of Azira, the coach noted the profound absence of Baba Kizito who has been busy with his new Finish club arrangements.

Azira has been active with Colorado Rapids.

He recently had a man of the match performance against Steven Gerrad’s team

The team has 4 goalkeepers, 10 defenders, 10 midfielders and 6 strikers.

The returnees on the team are Sports Club Villa midfielder Mike Sserumaga, Hassan Wasswa Mawanda and Danish based striker Emmanuel Okwi.

The squad will be reduced to 25 players after Tuesday’s session before traveling to West Africa.
