CAF Confederations Cup first round 2nd leg

JKU (Zanzibar) Vs SC Villa (Uganda) – Aman stadium [SC Villa lead 4-0 on aggregate]
A saying that history repeats itself is real for sure. When SC Villa began their continental adventure with a preliminary round first leg trip to Khartoum, they did travel with only 16 players.
The same has happened again after the Ugandan representatives named the same number for the return match against Zanzibar’s JKU who they walloped 4-0 in the first leg at Namboole last Saturday.
Speaking to Kawowo Sports, club Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Ivan Kakembo explained that logistically, it’s the contingent they could afford.
“The contingent that travelled to Zanzibar is one that we could afford logistically,” he said. “But we believe they will accomplish the job at hand,” he added.
The contingent of 21 that travelled by road and left on Wednesday at 3am has Rasoul Ariga as leader of delegation with a team doctor, two coaches, and a team physio and team manager who also doubles as the goal keeping coach for the trip.
The 16 man squad has two goalkeepers, five defenders, eight midfielders and one centre forward.
One key missing player on the list is midfielder cum Martin Kizza who came on a substitute in the first leg fixture.
SC Villa need to avoid a 5-0 loss to progress to the next round where Morocco’s FUS Rabat or USL Loum of Cameroon are lurking.
