Soana bounced back from a 2-0 defeat to KCCA with a 4-1 victory over a struggling SCVU side on Friday.
After a lackluster first-half performance, the Kavumba-based side managed to overpower their opponents in the second half.
Although they returned home with maximum points, head coach Charles Ayeikho was not impressed with his team’s first half performance.
“We had a very poor first half,” he noted before adding,”We looked disinterested going forward and we were suspects at the back. SCVU could have gone for recess with 3 goals up had they utilised their chances very well. we were just lucky they failed.”
Bronson Sserumira’s strike now means Soana has conceded 24 goals in the league. They have struggled defensively all throughout the season, and they looked sloppy at the back during the game.
Conceding 10 goals in 6 matches indeed calls for an alarm, and rightly, the coach did not shy away from expressing concerns about his back four.
“We have a huge problem with our defence which we must find solutions to. We can’t keep conceding in every match.”
Soana has kept a clean sheet just once since the league resumed in February and have conceded 10 in that same period.
