Preparations for the Tanzania national rally championship season opener have hit the final stages after crews announced their intentions for the year.

The Vaisakhi rally will set the ball rolling in the 2016 Tanzanian championship which starts this weekend in Moshi.

Randeep Singh heads his preparations to his third title after falling short on points last year. He finished second overall in the 2015 championship.

“We just need to be more consistent and finish more rallies this year. Last year we didn’t finish three rallies which cost us a lot of points,” he said.

The two-time Tanzanian rally champion not only targets a better start to the season but also to register his first Moshi rally finish.

“We will push were possible and take it easy where needed.”

“I haven’t completed the only two Moshi events have entered, so we need to be cautious to hit our luck the this time,” says Singh.

Singh will have a new co-driver Zubayr Piredina in a Mitsubishi Evo 9.

Over 20 crews have registered for the event that will cover a total competitive distance of 156.88km.
