Gurjit Dhani gave his newly acquired Subaru GBV a win on its debut by claiming victory in the Vaisakhi Rally that run in Moshi on Easter Sunday.
With Shammer Yusuf calling the notes, the Subaru crew clocked 1 hour 23minutes and 36seconds through a competitive distance of 156.88km. He also claimed two stage wins and leads the TNRC with 25points.
Piero Canobbio navigated by Silvia Frigo came second with a stage win to finish 6minutes 12seconds behind leader.
Gurpal Sandhu who was navigated by African rally champion co-driver David Sihoka sealed the podium with the third fastest time of the event.
Randeep Singh and Erfan Aladin settled for fourth and fifth position respectively.
The Vaisakhi rally proved to be tough after all the expectant names missed out on the finalist list.
TNRC defending champion Dharam Pandya could not go past stage three after he hit a rock that damaged his fuel filter.
Jamil Khan and Rajpal Dhani we also unfortunate as they failed to make it to the finish.
Mzizima rally is the next TNRC event coming in May.
