Busitema University stands in Kyambogo University’s way as the quest for their first ever University Football League title begins.

The Banda based institution has endured a torrid time in the league having served a ban over two seasons ago.

They make the long trip to Eastern Uganda for a date with Busitema University.

Pride will be at stake for team Busitema as they embark on their own journey to shocking the giants in the university game.

The league started on Wednesday with Nkumba University’s 1-0 home victory over visiting Uganda Martyr’s University, Nkozi, the 2015 losing finalists to MUBS.

Lanky intelligent midfielder, Ramadhan Kibirango scored with a well timed headed attempt in the first half, one goal that the Entebbe based institution held onto to win the match.

On Thursday, action swung over to the Luzira stadium when MUBS, the reigning champions were hosting Kampala International University.

Charles Ayiekho’s outfit carried the day 4-1 in a one sided encounter that witnessed fresh faces for either teams.

Team skipper Ismail Kawawulo, one of the experienced players left on the team led by example with a well converted free-kick for the team.

Other goals came from Frank Bomboka, Derrick Kyegga and Shaban Omara before Ibrahim Munywanyi’s penalty pasted the scoreline a respectable second look and some hope for the visitors.

Next Matches:

On Saturday, 2nd April 2016 there will be a double header featuring Ndejje and Mbarara University of Science and Technology as Gulu University shall host Uganda Christian University (UCU) in the other game.

On Sunday, 3rd April 2016, Makerere University hosts Kampala University
