KCCA 2-1 Police
KCCA brightened their chances of winning this year’s league title with a hard fought 2-1 win over Police at Nakivubo stadium.
The log leaders went into the game with a chance to stretch lead at the top after Vipers faltered on Friday and they didn’t disappoint as Joseph Ochaya and Ceaser Okhuti scored turning Rahmat Ssenfuka’s goal into consolation.
The hosts started slowly but got ahead in the 21st minute when Ochaya struck first time after a good pass from man of the moment Jackson Nunda.
Herman Wasswa thought he had doubled the lead nine minutes later but his goal was ruled out for offside.
Nine minutes after the break, the Cops equalised after skipper Denis Okot brought down Hood Kawesa in the area.
Ssenfuka; a KCCA target sent Benjamin Ochan the wrong way to make it 1-1 for the 2005 league champions.
It took KCCA four minutes to restore their lead thanks to substitute Ceaser Okhuti who headed home off Sulaimon Akinyemi cross from down the left.
The win leaves the ten times champions at the top but now widen the lead to six points whilst Police stay seventh with 32 points.
