Finals: Cipla Quality Chemicals 1-0 Bukedde
The Road to Anfield (Uganda version) ended successfully over the weekend at the Nelson Mandela National stadium, Namboole with Cipla Quality Chemicals Industries team emerging winners of the trip to Anfield the home of Liverpool Football Club.
The reigning Corporate League champions earned their tickets after a hard fought 1-0 win over Bukedde in the finals of the one day tournament that drew 40 corporate teams.
Simon Muwasira scored the lone strike that gave the Cipla, who won 3-0 over Airtel Uganda in the semi-finals, the victory.
Unlike last year when the winners Roofings Limited were subjected to a regional play-off, this time round the Ugandan champions qualified directly.
Roofings Limited lost to Bukedde in the semi-finals.
While in Liverpool, Cipla will meet various club legends and interact with great coaches and players of the club.
The trip will last three days and will culminate with the Liverpool versus Watford game on May 7.
