Legendary French Coach Claude LeRoy has been named new coach of the Togo national football team.
The tactician replaces former Free State Stars coach Tom Saintfiet after signing a new to lead the team until 2019, French newspaper L’Equipe reveals.
He will be joined by his long-time assistant Sebastien Minier with whom he guided Congo Brazzaville to the group stages of the 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifiers last year.
Claude LeRoy returns to the African football scene after resigning in pursuit of another “adventure”.
He has coached at a record eight African Nations Cup finals, including winning the tournament with Cameroon in 1988.
