2016 Kabaka Birthday run:

  • Sunday, 10th April 2016 (7:00 a.m)
  • Categories: 5KM, 10KM & 21 KM

The brave fight against the fistula ailment among women is the key reason why many people – young or old, rich and poor will unite to take to the streets of Kampala on the morning of Sunday, 10th April 2016.

Many participants however, have other agendas like socializing, keeping fit and sheer fun.

They have been advised to follow the official route designed for the three races lined up on the day in the 5, 10 and 21 kilometres categories. Buganda Kingdom sports minister, Henry Ssekabembe said;

The route has been out for weeks now and we advise the runners to follow it so that they do not get lost. Besides, we have route marshals that will guide the runners

The Kabaka Mutebi II birthday run is meant to celebrate the King’s 61st birthday with proceeds targeted to help fistula victims.

With the official Airtel Uganda branded kits already out, athletes will easily be identified.

About 3000 fun runners are expected to grace Kampala streets on the morning Sunday, 10th April 2016.
