2nd Beach Woodball Championship – Sports Beach Entebbe, 9:00am – 5:00pm
The second Beach Woodball Circuit takes center stage this Sunday, April 24 at Sports Beach Entebbe.
According to a statement released by the Uganda Woodball Federation administrator, John Baptist Kateregga, there will be a slight change in playing groups;
For a change, players will be grouped basing on their previous performance at the 1st Beach Woodball Circuit 2016.
UWbF is optimistic that this will get players used to playing under pressure at whichever level of competition.
Ndejje University’s duo of Ronald Kawumba Ronald and Lillian Zawedde top the men’s and women’s points logs with 51 and 35 points respectively.
Kawumba, the reigning champion of Beach Woodball is a point better than teammate and partner in crime, Joel Adupa.
Unfortunately, Zawedde will miss defending her lead at the top of the women’s log.
She is travelling on Saturday, April 23 to compete at the China International Open and Hong Kong International Open slated for April 25 to May 31.
In her absence, it is complete blessing in disguise for Sophia Namuddu (Ndejje Woodball Club) in-charge of the women’s log.
Namuddu will face competition from Viola Operu Viola (Ndejje University) and reigning Beach Circuit Champion, Joan Mukoova, also of Ndejje University.
On the side of Corporates, Stroke Woodball Club’s duo of Humphrey Taabo and Jessica Nabbona top the points log for men and women respectively.
The event will start at exactly 9am with the women’s singles.
