Finals:

W- Sport-S 3-0 VVC

M- Sport-S 3-0 Mattrix

Vision Volleyball Camp surrendered yet another trophy over weekend as they fell 3-0 to Sport-S ladies in the final of the Mbarara Open tournament.

It is the second title VVC are failing to defend this season having lost the Ndejje Open to the hosts in the first event of the season.

With Ndejje taking part in the Africa Club Championship, it was only a question of who will win the title between VVC and Sport-S.

The Nsambya outfit got everything right on the day while their counterparts seemed only present physically.

They struggled to serve, receive and attack and they were heavily punished by the clinical Sport-S side.

At one point in the first set, Hannington Nsubuga’s troops trailed (4-21) and went on to lose the set (15-25).

The second half looked balanced with VVC keeping close tabs on their opponents before breaking down to hand Sport-S a 2-set advantage.

The fighting spirit resurfaced in the third set but Sport-S held on to take the game without dropping a set.

It is the second final in which Sport-S have defeated VVC in straight sets and a one-hour team talk after the final was evidence of a side longing to get back to their former selves.

“We are a good team and we are confident we’ll bounce back,” team captain Joan Nabbuto told Kawowo Sports after the final.

Meanwhile Sport-S defeated Mattrix 3-0 in the final of the men’s category.

Mattrix had upset KAVC and Sky Volleyball Club in the quarter and semifinal respectively.
