The third round of the National rally championship takes place this weekend in Masaka and Rakai distrists.

Already over 43 crews have confirmed participation.

The two day event will kick off with a super special stage at the Pine Ridge circuit in Masaka on Saturday.

Two night stages of Mukoko 5km and Kiyumba 25km will be covered before embarking on seven stages on day two.

The Masolins Signs SMC rally is anticipated to produce some thrilling action as drivers target to strengthen their championship positions.

Ronald Sebuguzi being the current leader of NRC with only 40points ahead of second placed Jas Mangat, will aim at extending his lead.

Having finished fourth in a more challenging Kabale rally, Hassan Alwi will be tasked to prove that he can maintain the performance and even better that position.

Duncan Mubiru did not disappoint on his first outing in the Mistubishi Evo X  finishing second, he will obviously head for a win in Kyotera.

Kuku Ranjit in a new Mitsubishi Evo X will be out to affirm that the Evo 9 was limiting his pace for higher positions.

2015 defending champion Arthur Blick Jr is not to give up his title defence. He is expected to put up a tight fight to  close the gap on the NRC leaders.

Ponsiano Lwakataka being a native of Kyotera will certainly go for a top finish at home.

Whereas the podium favourites are automatically the top five drivers on the NRC standings, some of the Kabale rally retirees should not be overlooked to take podium places.

Andrew Desh Kananura is expected to be more cautious to register his first rally finish this year in a top position.

Omar Mayanja has to prove that if it hadn’t been for a roll, podium would be his destiny and Masaka will provide him a ground to show for it.

Christakis Fitidis, Geofrey Nsamba, Godfrey Lubega, Musa Kabega, among others will all look forward to accumulating maximum points that will place them in better positions.
