Vipers Juniors Team defeated rivals KCCA Soccer Academy to become the second winners of the national U-17 league – FUFA Juniors League.

Vipers won 4-1 after post match penalties that followed a goalless draw of normal time in the final played at Kawempe Muslim S.S play ground on Wednesday evening.

Vipers Junior goalie, Derrick Ochan saved two penalties to give the team an advantage as his teammates successfully converted.

“This is a great victory. We want to graduate to the senior team” Methidious Junju, the team captain said.

Players and officials of the top three clubs received medals of recognition with the excelling players given trophies and special medals as well.

All the 16 premier league sides had Junior Teams playing the FUFA Juniors League as a requirement that was put in place by FUFA in the club licensing procedure in the road to professionalization of league football in the country.

Clubs that will be relegated from the top tier league will automatically have their U-17 sides relegated to the second U-17 league group.

Fair Play Award: Maroons Juniors Team

MVP: Allan Okello (KCCA Soccer Academy)

Top Scorer: Hamis Tibita (Bul Junior Team) – 9 Goals

Best Goalkeeper: Derrick Ochan (Vipers Juniors Team)

Best Media: Enock Nuwagira (102.1 FUFA FM) and Joseph Zziwa (Bukedde Newspaper)
