Over 25 crews are set to tackle a tough, wet and muddy rally as the Kenya national rally series heads to Kisumu on Saturday.

Three-times KNRC champion Baldev Chager will go first off the trump followed by Ian Duncan and Rajbir Rai.

“Kisumu will be a tricky event due to the wet conditions. Being first is always hard as you make the breaking marks and lines for others,” says Chager.

“Mud in tires also reduces grip a lot and it also creates huge issues with overheating, but we shall take it on,” he added.

The KNRC reigning champion Jaspreet Chatthe is seeded fourth while the current KNRC leader Tapio Laukkanen is in fifth.

Chatthe is yet win a rally at home despite being familiar with the territory.

“Its been too long since Kajiado and its noce to get back into the car against the clock again,” says Chatthe.

“Its raining lately but the game plan will be to approach it as it comes,” he asserted.

Prevailing wet conditions on the lakeside have compelled organisers of the Kisumu Rally to cancel the 8.79km Simba stage to reduce the competitive stage to 134.46.
