The Motorsport fraternity on Friday 20th woke up to the sad news of the death of a diehard female motor rally fan Grace Nankabirwa.
Nankabirwa has not only been a member of the Rally Fans Club (RFC) but also used to manage the 2010 NRC Champion Nasser Mutebi together with her husband Allan Basansale.
Kawowo Sports’ Sharifah Namagoba Ramah brings you the obituaries from some of the rally fraternity members.
Nasser Mutebi (2010 NRC champion)
I introduced Grace and her husband to motorsport. They eventually started managing Nash rally team. Seeing the way the rally fraternity is grieving over her death makes me proud and shows she has really done only well for the sport.
We shall indeed miss her presence in the sport. May her soul Rest in Peace.
Joe Burua (President RFC)
We heard with profound shock the passing of our very strong hearted member Grace Nankabirwa. She has been a very committed member who not only supported the club in many ways but also attended every rally event alongside her husband.
She has been a strong pillar for many lady fans and an example of dignity. We shall surely dearly miss you. May her soul Rest in peace.
Rogers Sirwomu (competitor)
We are very saddened for the loss of our dear friend and sister Grace. She has been a good person to the rally fraternity and has always been there for many teams whenever she is needed. She has been and remains a role model to the fans. We will never forget her till the time we meet again. May her Soul Rest In Eternal Peace.

Eric Nzamwita (Competitor from Rwanda)
Personally I did not know or spoken to her. But I used to see her around service parks with some teams smiling with everyone. She was part of the diehard rally fans that used to visit my country for most of the rally events. I wish I could have said at least Hello to her one day, but I didn’t get that chance. Looking at the away the fraternity is mourning, we should be proud of her life and thank God for that.
Innocent Mutaawe (African rally archives crew).
Grace and her husband introduced us to motorsport. She has always sponsored our photography and she is the reason for what we are now. We appreciate much for your support and encouragement in our career. May her soul Rest in Peace.
Grace Nankabirwa succumbed to cancer at the Nsambya hospital. She will be laid to her final bed today (Saturday) at Namagoma.
At Kawowo Sports, we send condolences to the family of the deceased and pray Grace Nankabirwa’s soul rests in Eternal Peace.
