Since the release of the eagerly awaited trailer for ‘Queen of Katwe’, Academy Award winner Lupita Nyong’o who also stars in the same, has been so emotional.

Nyong’o whose character in the movie is Harriet Mutesi, who is raising her young daughter Phiona in the Ugandan slums of Katwe said she “gets chills” on watching, in addition to pride and excitement.

The actress posted the trailer on her twitter account on May 10 and it has since gathered 2.5k retweets and 2.6k hearts.

With Leona Lewis’ fresh 2015 single, Thick Skin playing as the soundtrack, things take a turn when Phiona Mutesi meets missionary Robert Katende (played by David Oyelowo), who cultivates the girl’s natural skill at chess.

Mutesi goes big in the sport, living the dream never imagined by the family.

“The trailer gives me chills — it reinforces how excited I am to be a part of this incredible cast and to help bring this story to the world,” Lupita told Vulture.

“Seeing [the trailer] reminds me of our time on set, being around the astoundingly gifted children, and the distinct sights and smells of Uganda.

“It fills me with pride. The music is perfect too; it evokes the hope of the story, and the hard work that the whole cast and crew put in to bring it to the big screen.”

Nyong’o has had a turn in Oscar-winning 12 Years a Slave, though she has also played an alien in Star Wars: The Force Awakens and a wolf in The Jungle Book.
