Lilian Zawedde and Onesmas Atamba saved Uganda’s blushes at the 7th World Woodball Cup in Jeju South Korea as they won gold in the mixed doubles on Monday evening as Uganda finished seventh out of 16 countries that took part.
The pair hit 37 strokes in 12 gates to displace Thailand and Mongolia who finished 2nd and 3rd respectively with 41 and 44 strokes.

Zawedde won bronze in the women singles while Atamba, Godwin Ssennyondo, William Osire and Isaac Ariho won bronze in the men’s team events.
