Rugby Cranes head coach Robert Sseguya will name his final team of 24 players on Wednesday and a few souls will be disappointed while others will jubilate.
The most highly contested number on the team according to the tactician is the number 9; the scrumhalf position and he will be scratching his head before making the immense decision.
Kevin Makmot and Davis Kiwalabye have been the mainstays but there are no guarantees this time round. Makmot’s performance in the league may not have been the best but he probably qualifies the most among the four available options.
The fact that he adds kicking to his game gives him a bigger chance.
Conrad Wanyama is the other who can chip in with his boot and he is the hardest tackler of the four, he showed in the league that he can tackle anyone and is not scared of the big stage.
But, judging by last season’s performance, Kiwalabye would be the most ideal number 9 because of the way he carried Betway Kobs to the title.
Brian Kikawa is the other scrumhalf in contention and Sseguya admits he has hard decisions to make.
“They have all been good in the league and also in training so that’s the hardest number for me in this selection,” he said.
Makmot and Kiwalabye had the nod last year and were involved as the Rugby Cranes made it to tier 1A.
