Former Ghana striker Peter Lamptey feels Ghana could suffer a setback should they go ahead and drop talisman Asamoah Gyan.
Gyan has been nursing a knee injury but Lamptey believes the 30-year-old should be an obvious inclusion on the team ahead of the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations in Gabon.
“The Black Stars will find goal scoring difficult without Asamoah Gyan,” Lamptey told Starr FM.
“I think it will be possible for Ghana to win the title if he plays at the AFCON”
“Without him, Ghana have won and scored fewer goals but this is a tournament and we need him”
“He is simply a goal scorer and we need him to achieve the aim of delivering the title.”
Ghana have already booked their spot at the showpiece after accumulating 13 points, seven above Rwanda and Mozambique.
