When Hotpool lost to Scrap Buyers in the Pool Association of Uganda (PAU) Senor Pool League on Saturday, the celebrations that followed were like the tittle had been decided that very night at the Lumas Pool Arena.

In the actual sense, a giant had been humbled. Hotpool were on an eight game winning streak before Scrap Buyers ended that run in match day nine of the league in emphatic style.

Scrap Buyers took a 3-0 lead, before throwing it away and trailed 11-8 and then bounced back to win the game 13-12.

The win proved that Andrew ‘Artland’ Kabuubi, Wasswa Kayiiya, Navy Matovu, Joseph Mutawe and company had a game plan and orchestrated it well against a side that had all sorts of ideas going wrong.

That win brought Scrap Buyers level on 24 points and joint top on the 16 team log with Hotpool, although the latter has a superior goal difference.

Meanwhile, Skin Samona’s title defending ambitions were hampered by Icon following a 17-08 at Club Icon Nansana.

Patrick Mujuzi, Simon Lubulwa and Fahad Ntambi did the damage that sunk Skin Samona as they dropped to fourth on the  with 21 points.

At Temusewo, Musa Ssekiliba won all this five frames as he inspired CKI to the highest scores in the league this season when they defeated Nakawa 24-01 at Temusewo Building. CKI are also on 21 points but occupy third position because of a better goal difference.
