With four days left to close receipt of applications, the combo of Deo Sserwadda and Shafik Bisaso is primed to take over at SC Villa.

The club declared the technical staff roles vacant on Sunday June 5, 2016 by advertising the head coaching job despite a sign interim tactician Ibrahim Kirya had been shown the exit.

With over 20 coaches, including foreigners applying for the job, former SC Villa player Deo Sserwadda and Masavu Coach Shafik Bisaso are favourites to land the job.

It’s rumoured that Sserwadda, a league winner with URA has already indicated Bisaso who is also coach of Busujju in the ongoing Masaza Cup will be his assistant.

Kawowo Sports understands that former Jogoos Spanish Coach Antonio Flores (sacked after just three games last season), Ivan Zoric (formerly at SCVU), Patrick Phiri (Zambian) and Dorian Marin (former Nalubaale Coach) are some of the foreigners to have applied for the job.

“I am not sure of the chances but I did apply for the job,” Ivan Zoric told Kawowo Sports.

There are reports that Joseph Mutyaba (JMC Hippos), Joseph Mutyaba (Lweza) and Fred Kajoba (Bright Stars) are also interested in the job.

The club is expected to make the big announcement next week after a vetting process on Sunday June 20.
