After a month’s break, the National Motocross championship returns this Sunday 26th June at the Motorsports Arena, Busiika.
Under the theme ‘MX freestyling’ the event will have Africa’s best MX freestyler Nick De Wit from South Africa. He will exhibit astonishing freestyle moves.
With the championship reaching the mid season, all riders are expected to up their strategies to create chances for this year’s titles.
Arthur Blick Jr will have to break Maxime Van Pee’s dominance in MX1 if he is to come into touching distance of this year’s title. Van Pee tops the class; 33 points ahead of Blick.
MX2 will contain the fight between Alestair Blick and Yasser Ali Omar. The duo will be aiming at closing the gap on class leader Fatuh Kiggundu who is at 180points; 42points ahead of second placed Alestair.
Stephane Okenge will have to limit Yasin Kasirye whom he leads by five points to maintain his MX125 title hopes.
MX85 will provide the most exciting battle as the race will break the current tie between Ben Nsumba and Fortune Sentamu. Both are standing at 145 points. Aviv Orland will come in the mix to revive his supremacy in the class as Wazir Omar benchmarks the class leaders.
Imran Nkurunziza will have to prove he is a title material against Stav Orland who has always set the pace in each event he participates in. Malcom Lubega and Habib Kiggundu will ride to match the leaders pace. In the same class, Esther Mwangala debuts a new KTM 2016 bike.
50cc battle will have female rider Isabella Blick targeting to fence off Gift Sebuguzi, Alon Orland and Malcolm Omonding to extend her class lead.
With only 12 points separating MX50 junior rivals William Blick and Miguel Katende, an exciting battle could ensue. That will be spiced up with female riders Kawthara Keza Balinda and Abigail Mwangala.
