Ex-Amavubi Stars Vs Ex-Cranes (Ex-Internationals)

Rwanda and Ugandan ex-internationals will renew acquaintances on Thursday at Regional stadium, Nyamirambo when they face off in a Charity match.
This was confirmed by Rwanda ex-international Jimmy Mulisa who also serves as the FERWAFA assistant technical director who is also the assistant coach of the national team who stated the match is a tribute to late Amavubi Coach Jean Marie Ntagwabira.
“The match is a tribute to the late Amavubi coach Jean Marie Ntagwabira,” he is quoted by The Times of Rwanda. “The ex-internationals will give donations to Ntagwabira’s family as a sign of solidarity and recognition for his contribution to the development of football in Rwanda,” he added.
The Rwandan side is composed of mainly players who helped the country qualify for the 2004 Africa Nations Cup finals in Tunisia after edging the Cranes at Namboole thanks to Jimmy Gatete lone strike.
Long serving skipper Olivier Karekezi, Eric Nshimiyimana, Bokota Labama Kamana and ex-SC Villa and KCCA centre forward Saidi Abedi Makasi are also part of the Rwanda side.
The Cranes team that arrived in Kigali in the wee hours of Wednesday has among others George Ssemwogerere, Hassan Mubiru, Hakim Magumba, Joseph Kabagambe, Phillip Obwiny and Jamil Kyambadde among others.
