Four Ugandan drivers have been officially flagged off by National Council of Sports ahead of the fourth round of Africa Rally Championship in Tanzania.
The crew of Jas Mangat, Yasin Nasser, Christakis Fitidis and Duncan Mubiru will represent Uganda as they battle for National Rally Championship points on the weekend of 8-10th in Bagamoyo.
“We flag you off to Tanzania to fly the Ugandan flag higher, and we hope you not only show our might in sports but also the generosity attracting them to come and also take part in some events here,” says FMU president Dusman Okee.
Team leader Fitidis promised only victory from Tanzania.
“It is not the first time for us to race in Tanzania and we know very well the kind of competition awaiting. So expect only the best from this team and Uganda will come out on top,” he said.
The drivers’ performance is expected to change their positions on the NRC standings which is currently led by Jas Mangat with 85points ahead second placed Duncan Mubiru.
