Gerard Miller could not let the year pass without an attempt at defending his prestigious win.

The 63-year-old was forced to shorten his rally sabbatical by making a return for the 2016 Rally of Tanzania. The rally revs off on 8-10th July in Bagamoyo.

Miller last appeared in the cockpit last year during the same event which he won.

He became the first Tanzanian to scoop the prestigious rally win in a decade after Omar Bakhresa in 2004.

“We have entered mostly to have fun. We wish to defend the win but there so many ambitious drivers with stronger cars but we shall work for a finish,” says Miller.

“Have not entered any other rally this season but am returning because ARC is a well run event and fun to take part in,” he added.

He will be navigated by Peter Fox in Mitsubishi Evo 9.

Miller will have to beat other 23 crews to retain his rally of Tanzania win.
