Hakim Ssenkumba has parted ways with KCCA after Coach Mike Mutebi advised club officials not to renew his contract.
The central midfielder’s contract ran out at the end of the previous season and although the management wanted it renewed, Mutebi opted otherwise.
Kawowo Sports understands that the club has spent the whole of last week discussing terms for the new contract with the ex-SC Villa and Vipers’ midfielder but the talks collapsed on Friday.
“Unfortunately, the negotiations were fruitless and he will leave the club,” a source that preferred anonymity revealed.
In January this year, the technical team wanted Ssenkumba loaned alongside Yasin Mugabi, Owen Kasule, Isaac Sserunkuma and Farouk Matovu but changed mind on advice from the top management.
A couple of weeks ago, Mutebi in an interview hinted at Ssenkumba exit saying the club were looking at options in central midfield next season with Lawrence Kasadha also likely to be deployed in what he described as his natural position, defensive midfield.
Ssenkumba joins striker Herman Wasswa and goalie Yasin Mugabi on the list of players that have officially left the Kasasiro in the window so far.
