The fourth round of the 2016 Africa rally championship in Tanzania could make a wave in the title contention.

The ARC battle resumes on 8-10th July in Bagamoyo.

Unfortunately, only two contenders; Don Smith from Kenya and Zambia’s Muna Singh Jr will take on the battle.

Smith currently leads; four points ahead of Singh who is on 50points.

With reference to the past events, Rally of Tanzania could turn the ARC standings.

In the last three events, Smith has finished second in all while Singh won the ARC category of the two events he has competed in.

With the two events, the times show Singh being faster than rival Smith.

Singh was 15minutes, 10seconds ahead of Smith in Sasol rally while in Zambia he finished 15minutes, 54seconds ahead.
If the trend stays in Tanzania, Singh will be assured of a lead while Smith automatically drops to second.

However, if it happens that Singh drops out and Smith finishes, Smith would only need to finish in any position in the remaining events.

When it happens the other way round with Smith dropping out, the title will go down to the wire in Uganda.

This year’s ARC registered seven crews but only two have shown serious contention for the title.
