Only twice has KCCA won back to back league titles. That was in 1976 and 1977 plus as recent as 2012/13 and 2013/14 under Coach George ‘Best’ Nsimbe alongside Abdallah Mubiru.

Manager Mike Mutebi has vowed to join that class by guiding KCCA to the 2016-17 league title.

“We are going to defend it,” he told Kawowo Sports. “I think we have a good crop of players and they are aware of what is the club’s intention,” he added.

Mutebi also had comments on the three day trophy organised by the club that started on Thursday and ended on Friday.

It was a good idea but i didn’t like the timing. But it was a fantastic start and hopefully, it will be better after next season since we are gona be champions again.

KCCA has already confirmed two new signings in the window in Geoffrey Sserunkuma and Brian Majwega and reports are ripe they have agreed terms with Vincent Kayizzi.
