Ethiopian Coffee football club will not renew the employment contract for the vastly experienced and traveled Serbian born coach Dragan Popadic, aged 51 years old.

The development follows the expiration of his contract at the end of the 2015/16 season.

Popadic who handled Express in the 90’s had replaced Tilahun Magesha.

There is a special party that has been organized for him in Addis Ababa on Saturday with unconfirmed reports Cofffee had feared for his health.

Ethiopian Coffee were runners up to champions St George, who clinched their 28th league crown in as many seasons.

Popadic was first foreign coach in the 41 years history of Coffee.

He has a rich coaching background in Africa having been in Tanzania (Simba), Uganda (Express), Rwanda (Rayon Sports), Angola (Petro Atletico Luanda) and Ghana (King Faisal).

At Express, he is best remembered having won the 1996 Uganda super league with the Red Eagles.

He also won the Council for East and Central Africa Football Association (CECAFA) Cup winner with Tanzanian side Simba.

In Angola, he guided Petro Atletico Luanda to the national cup.
