In their second meeting at the 2016 World University Netball Championship, Australia had the last smile as the edged Uganda 42-41 to win the bronze medal.

Uganda dominated Australia in the group game enroute to a 54-46 win but Australia were up for the challenge with bronze at stake.

Like the semifinals game against eventual tournament winners South Africa, Uganda led through the opening half but this time they did so until the final seconds when Australia slipped to the Bronze medal.

Australia and Uganda lost to Jamaica and South Africa respectively to play the bronze medal match.

Meanwhile, South Africa claimed gold following a 43-39 win over Jamaica.
