Charity Match: Nakasongola Select 0-3 Uganda Cranes (Half Time)

A well taken double from young striker Edrisa Lubega puts the Uganda Cranes in a comfort zone over Nakasongola Select by the half time mark of the charity match at St Lawrence play ground in Migyeera, Nakasongola.

KCCA forward Derrick jumped highest to nod home the opener as early as the 5th minute of the game off a telling delivery from the roving left back, Joseph Ochaya.

Ochaya, who is destined for a professional move at South African side, Bidvest Wits has been a darling for the capacity crowd throughout the opening stanza of the game.

After a series of misses from Lubega and Erisa Ssekisambu, the former looped home the second in the 23rd minute following a well chipped ball from Ivan Ntege.

Nakasongola’s Amis Muwonge had a blocked effort two minutes later – thanks to the team skipper Hassan Mawanda’s dedicated play.

Lubega scored the second in the 33rd minute, with a simple left footed finish inside the area.

It would have been a cricket score for the national team had Ssekisambu perfectly controlled a Lubega through ball.

The two sides will call for changes with Micho already indicating to introduce a different side for the second half.
