Uganda U-21 Netball side gallantly registered their second victory at the on-going World U-21 Championship qualifiers in the Botswana capital of Gaborone.
The baby She Cranes defeated the physically endowed central Africans, Zambia 28-22 in a closely contested game on Tuesday.
Uganda led throughout the four quarters with a slim cutting edge of a physical encounter.
They led 8-4, 14-10, 19-17 and eventually broke away to win 28-22.
A lion’s share of Uganda’s goals were scored by Exodus S.S student, Shafie Nalwanja.
This was Uganda’s second victory at the championship after edging Namibia 48-39.
The cream de-la-cream three top sides will book their berths at the world event that will still be hosted in Botswana next year.
In the other matches on Tuesday, hosts Botswana suffered a 66-33 loss at the hands of heavy weights South Africa while Zimbabwe humiliated Lesotho 88-13 in a one sided tie.
Uganda plays Lesotho in the third game on Wednesday.
