The Rugby Cranes will set off Thursday morning for their last game of the Africa Rugby Tier 1A tournament against the Kenya Simbas on Saturday.
Head coach John Duncan, his assistants Robert Sseguya and Anthony will maintain the team that ousted Zimbabwe over the weekend as they look to replicate their Zimbabwe heroics in front of their noisy neighbours.
“It is the same team but the approach may be a bit different,” Sseguya told Kawowo Sports after the team’s last training session Wednesday evening at Kyadondo Rugby Grounds.
Kevin Makmot, Ronald Musajjagulanyago and Gerald Ssewankambo are all still ruled out of the tie with injuries but Sseguya trusts the players who have ably filled the void left by the trio.
“Everyone we give a chance is willing to give it his best so we are not worried at all,” the Heathens tactician revealed.
Davis Kyewalabye had already overtaken Makmot in the pecking order before the latter’s injury while Oscar Kalyango announced his return to the starting lineup with a try.
Brian Asaba made sure Musajjagulanyago’s absence was not felt in Zimbabwe and is also expected to keep his place.
Uganda will be looking for a much better exhibition than they put up when the two sides clashed at Legends Rugby Grounds last month.
The game will also act as the second leg of the Elgon Cup with Kenya holding a 48-10 advantage from their emphatic clobbering of the cup holders.
