When it comes to regional volleyball dominance in the last two years, Rwanda Revenue Authority (RRA) women have made it a norm to keep themselves up there.

The reigning Rwanda Women National League winners have won back-to-back Genocide Memorial and the NSSF-KAVC International titles between 2014 and 2015.

And although they lost the Genocide Tournament to Sport-S ladies in June, retaining the “KAVC Mem” is their immediate target when the two day tournament volleys off on August 6.

The man who has been at the forefront of RRA’s success as the Rwanda tax collectors aim to continue with their dominance on foreign soil, Jean de Dieu Masumbuko said;

I think we have a very good chance to successfully defend our title because we started preparations early and players are responding very well.

We have been consistent in the league games; we haven’t lost in two seasons. We are in good spirit and hopefully we will be able to retain our title in Kampala

Just like it was at the 2016 Rwandan Genocide Tournament, RRA will find stiff competition in Sport-S, a side that has been dominant in every competition they have played at this year, RRA will most likely also be the only women foreign team at the championship.
