85th FC Ilves Anniversary Match:

FC Ilves 1-4 Valencia

A 64th minute strike from Uganda Cranes striker, Yunus Sentamu for his Finnish club FC Ilves Tampere against Spanish side, Valencia only acted as a consolation.

Sentamu and his club had already conceded four goals from Aridai Cabrera, Paco Alacacer, Rodrigo Moreno and Santi Mina.

The former Bulemeezi Ssaza winner, who played at St Julian and St Mary’s Kitende secondary schools before joining Vipers eyes the goal as a confidence booster.

Deep in my heart, I felt I would score before the game and worked hard for it.

The goal will help me boost my confidence after a long time out.

Also, scoring on the club’s 85th anniversary against such a big club is of great value to me and the club. Everything is possible In Shaa Allah.

I thank my agent, teammates, coaches and the Ugandan representative, Ronnie Santos.

The young forward was signed by AS Vita in the DR Congo from Vipers before switching to Tunisian club, CS Safxien.

Sentamu signed a pre-contract agreement with FC Ilves in January 2016 but paper work delayed his transfer and travel to Finnland until June.

The game was Sentamu’s second for Ilves after last week’s 1-1 draw against Tamu.
