2016 Masaza Football:

Semifinal Return Legs

  • Busujju 1-1 Buddu (Agg:2-1)
  • Gomba 2-0 Kyaggwe (Agg: 3-0)

It is confirmed two crowd pullers Buddu and Gomba will play in the 2016 Masaza Cup final.

The development followed the return legs of the two semi finals played on Sunday.

Buddu, 2015 losing finalists to Ssingo progressed after ejecting Busujju 2-1 on aggregate.

The return leg played at Mannya playground in Kamuli township off Mityana – Mubende road ended in a one all draw.

After a wasteful evening of the well attended match, Marida Kuteesa finally fastened his scoring laces tapping home the opener shortly after the second half started.

Yusufu Ssaka hit the side netting, an attempt the day’s referee had at first counted before he reversed the decision after bitter protest by the visiting fans, many of whom attacked him.

With two minutes to the game collapse, Busujju, coached by SC Villa assistant coach Shafiq Bisaso found the equalizer through Brian Oyuka’s well converted penalty.

In the other semi-final, three time winners Gomba completed a double over Kyaggwe 2-0 at their Kabulasooke PTC fortress.

During the first leg, Gomba defeated Kyaggwe 1-0 at the Buikwe stadium.

Gomba will be seeking for their fourth crown after the heroics in 2004, 2009 and 2014 whilst Buddu are working toothless for the first success.

The finals of this year’s edition will be played on the 20th August 2016 at the Nelson Mandela National Stadium, Namboole.
