Yeovil Town Football Club completed the signing of Uganda footballer Bevis Mugabi  from Premier League side, Southampton.

Mugabi, 21, is comfortable as a central defender as well at the right-back role.

He penned a one year contract with the Glovers.

Manager Darren Way hailed the defender;

We had Bevis down with us last season for a while and he did very well. He has spent the whole of pre-season with us and has really stood out.

I wish him all the best for a long and successful stay with us.

He joined the Yeovil, Somerset based club with the ambition on attaining promotion.

I am delighted to have signed for Yeovil Town Football Club. This is a great opportunity. It is a fresh start and a new beginning

Mugabi’s first game in Yeovil colours was a 1-1 draw against Luton.

On Tuesday, Mugabi played 90 minutes as Yeovil Town fell 1-0 to Mansfield at the Field Mill arena.

Rather than being devastated by the result, Mugabi believes his team will rise to the occasion in the subsequent game.

“I am gutted to have lost tonight. We’ll regroup and come back stronger on Saturday. Sorry to the fans that traveled,” he commented after the game.

Yeovil will play host to Morecambe in their next home game at the Huish Park stadium on Saturday.
