One of the reasons KCCA FC traveled to Arua two days to their fourth Uganda Premier League tie of the season against Onduparaka was because they didn’t want to take any chances.
The team arrived Thursday morning and were expected to have a training session at the re-branded Greenlight Stadium ahead of the game on Friday.
That never happened as one of Onduparaka’s coaches Leo Adra warned the team that some fans were planning to use violence to chase the team out of the ground according to the team’s media officer John Paul Agaba.
He (Adra) told us that some fans were planning to attack us, yet we had gotten clearance from the team’s CEO. When we called the CEO to sort the situation his phone was off, so we had to look for an alternative.
KCCA then trained at a nearby ground owned by Arua Primary School and will only access the Greenlight Stadium on Friday for the mandatory warn up before kickoff.
KCCA have won all their three matches this season, while their visitors are yet to pick a win with two draws and a loss.
