Kitara region representatives in the second division league, Airtel-Kitara football are set to play their first ever match in the FUFA Big league on Thursday in the away trip to Baza Holdings at the Kawempe Muslim secondary school play grounds in Kampala.
The Kitara regional champions, who are based in Hoima municipality overcame Bumate 3-0 in the rematch of the play offs strengthened their squad with 9 new signings,3 of them rejoining the team after a season long loan Boma Young.
These are forwards Denis Monday, Moses Tumusiime and midfielder Julius Shida.
Goalkeeper Serial Komakech replaces Chrispus Kusiima who joined Nyamityobora on loan from Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) football club
Other reinforcements include left back Gerald Atuhura and right back Cassian Kahwa.
According to a team official, Joshua Atugonza, the team is set to send shock waves across the country.
We are determined to play our hearts out and secure promotion to the Azam Uganda Premier League next season.We were affected by delay in deciding the regional champion because of a petition but i assure all our fans to expect results as long as they act as the 12th player by supporting the team.
Airtel-Kitara is in the Rwenzori group of the FUFA Big league along with teams as Kireka United, Boma Young, Mbarara City, Entebbe, Kataka, Nyamityobora, Synergy and Entebbe based Masavu.
Only three clubs are promoted from the two Big league groups (Rwenzori and Elgon).
