Kenya, one of the eight finalists at the 2016 African Women Cup of Nations tournament in Cameroon will face Tanzania in the finals of the 2016 CECAFA Women tournament on Tuesday.
The final follows the two countries’ successful qualification after progress from the group stages and semi finals.
Kenya Harambee Starlets sailed unbeaten from group A that had hosts Uganda, Burundi and the tournament whipping girls, Zanzibar.
In fact, Kenya scored the most goals in the group stages (19) and the most goals in a single fixture (11-0 against Zanzibar).
At the semi-final, they overcame a spirited Ethiopia outfit 3-2 in a tense and thrilling match.
Tanzania required a coin toss to top group B that had Rwanda and Ethiopia as the other countries.
The Kilimanjaro Queens and Ethiopia both overcame Rwanda by an identical 3-2 scoreline.
The goal-less draw between Tanzania and Ethiopia meant that the two countries were equal in all aspects, and therefore a coin toss as called for by the CECAFA group stage games was applied to determine the group leaders.
In the semi-final, Tanzania humiliated host country Uganda 4-1 in a one sided encounter.
