JMC Hippos Vs Vipers – Kakindu @ 4.30pm

Following a ten days’ break from league action, Vipers seek to keep up pursuit of log leaders KCCA when they travel to Kakindu for an encounter against JMC Hippos.

The two time league champions, one of the five unbeaten sides in the division so far are fully aware of the Hippos threat, a side that all but ended their title hopes last season.

The two sides played to a barren stalemate at Kakindu and will be eager to avoid a repeat of the same result.

Abdallah Mubiru’s side come into the game full on confidence thanks to a slim 1-0 win over another Jinja side Bul FC and the gaffer thinks winning must continue although he admits his side is yet play to their potential.

“This must continue – we haven’t done anything yet, we are just starting and now play another stubborn side,” he told his club’s website.

On the game against JMC Hippos, who lost 3-1 to URA in their previous game, Mubiru says. “It is an important game, but we have the desire to compete and win there.”

The visitors are without midfielder Siraje Sentamu and forward William Wadri – all injured but the good news is the return of defender Halid Lwaliwa and attacking midfielder Brian Kakaire.

The Hippos who sit bottom of the log with just a single point have shipped in the most goals, six and face a side that has scored more than any other – seven goals.

With eight points from four games, the Venoms can ascend to the summit of the 16 team log with a win in case KCCA falter against The Saints like they did against Onduparaka.
