Uganda Cranes have landed a training camp opportunity in Spain ahead of the 2017 AFCON finals in Gabon.

The camp will take place in December 2016 a month before the AFCON finals that will be staged from 15th January to 5th February 2017.

The development was confirmed by the national team head coach, Milutin ‘Micho’ Sredojovic on Wednesday during the weekly press conference at Mengo in Kampala.

Uganda Cranes team has landed an invite to train in Spain ahead of Gabon 2017.

This is a great opportunity for the players who will be preparing for the AFCON finals.

The coach has disclosed that he has lined-up high profilefriendly matches before the final tournament.

The training camp in Spain will be held starting on the 17th December 2016 for two weeks with three scheduled friendly matches

Over the years, the Uganda Cranes has worked so hard to maintain the status quo in the region and the continent.

By the latest FIFA Rankings, Uganda is among the 16 best footballing countries in Africa and the best in the region.

The opportunity to be recognized by some of the world’s elite footballing nations comes at an opportune time when the country is preparing for the biggest football fiesta – the Africa Cup of Nations, their first time since 1978.
